22 Sept (J + 18) Kia Ora Raglan

Bridalveil Falls

C'est toujours difficile le lundi, surtout après une bonne randonnée au sommet du Mont Karioi. Ouai, il est d'une hauteur de seulement 756 m ;) On a mis environ 3h30 pour faire l'aller-retour. La vue? Magnifique!!! A 360° ... on pouvait voir toute la côte de Raglan ainsi que la partie intérieure. On a dormi une nuit au Backpacker's de Raglan, dans laquelle on trouvé une bonne ambiance, un jacuzzi, un sauna (nahh, on n'a pas fait tout ça malheureusement =)) et un lit chauffant, alors ça c'est du 5 étoile. On a passé une soirée tranquille dans un bar avec tous les résidents de l'auberge devant un petit groupe qui chantait les chansons de Stevie Ray et Jimi Hendrix. Sinon on a travaillé les muscles de nos bras en faisant un petit tour de kayak, alors que c'était la ville des surfeurs, lol!!!

Raglan 20-21 Sept

This weekend was a trip to Raglan, the surf capital of the NZ. Departure on Saturday morning from Hamilton, we arrived in the Bridal Veil Falls 2 hours later (we’ve taken the wrong direction). We contemplate the 55 meters high falls and got some good shots of it. Right after, we drove to Raglan to eat and to kayak on Raglan’s bay (kindly lent by the backpacker’s owners). We took a shower later and went straight to Manu Bay to see the sunset. We saw some surfers and the beautiful waves of this spot. To conclude the day, we went into a bar in town with some other backpackerq. We appreciated the songs from Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray's albums with 1,3L Tui beer jugs at 11 NZ$ (approximately 5€).

The following day, we climbed Mount Karioi, a 756m high mountain near to the seaside. Wonderful sightseeing at the summit!! We noticed that we did the return journey in 3h30 instead of the 6h writen on the signboard at the bottom of the mountain.
All in all, It has been a f**kin good week end!
